Spanish Exploradores is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant to support our Spanish language programs for children in Havertown, PA and nearby communities.

About Spanish Exploradores

Spanish Exploradores is a local enrichment company that introduces children to Spanish through immersive, activity-based learning. Our programs combine language learning with music, storytelling, crafts, games, and creative play to help children develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of Spanish.

We offer Spanish clubs, camps, and enrichment programs for preschool and elementary-aged children throughout the Main Line area.

Position Overview

The Classroom Assistant works alongside our Spanish instructors to help create a positive, organized, and engaging classroom environment.

This role is a great fit for a college student studying Spanish, education, early childhood development, psychology, or a related field who wants valuable experience working with children while strengthening their Spanish language skills.

Responsibilities

The Classroom Assistant will:

  • Assist Spanish instructors with classroom activities and student engagement
  • Support children during games, crafts, music, movement activities, and play-based learning
  • Help prepare classroom materials, including arts and crafts supplies
  • Organize teaching resources and classroom supplies
  • Assist with classroom setup and cleanup
  • Help supervise small groups of students
  • Encourage children to participate and feel comfortable using Spanish
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive classroom environment
  • Assist with basic organization tasks, including filing and preparing materials

Qualifications

  • Enjoy working with young children
  • Responsible, dependable, and punctual
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help
  • Comfortable participating in creative activities, games, and play-based learning
  • Can assist with managing small groups of children
  • Is at least 18 years old

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children through babysitting, tutoring, childcare, camps, schools, or volunteer work
  • Spanish language skills or experience in a Spanish immersion environment

Location

Programs are currently offered in Havertown, PA.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time position
  • Current schedule:
    • Saturday mornings: 9:30 am – 11:45 am
    • One weekday afternoon/evening: 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Additional hours may occasionally be available based on program needs.

Compensation: $12 – $15 per hour, based on experience and performance

Required Clearances & Certifications

Prior to teaching, instructors must obtain:

  • FBI Criminal Background Check
  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (reimbursement available)
